-
- Pressing <FOOTNOTE> (the CTRL F key) allows you to create, insert,
- delete, or show footnotes. You are prompted for the operation type
- <CTRL> D to abort.
-
- If you type <RETURN>, then you will create the next footnote in the
- sequence. (To create a footnote out of sequence, type the footnote
- number). You will have a blank screen (with a footnote marker at the
- beginning) to start your text with. Type <CTRL> D to end the footnote.
-
- If you have footnotes in your text already number 1 to 5, and you want
- to insert a footnote in between 2 and 3, press 'i'. You will create
- the new footnote number 3 just like you were creating any footnote.
- After the operation, you are asked if you want to renumber all of the
- footnotes greater than or equal to 3. If you type 'y', then all
- footnotes in the text with the number 3 or greater will be bumped up
- by one.
-
- To delete a footnote, type 'd'. You are prompted for the footnote
- number to delete, and then if you want to renumber the following
- footnotes.
-
- To view all defined footnotes one at a time, press '?'.
